Sterile Water for Injection  Application Sheet

Application Overview:

Sterile water for injection has many uses. The most common use is as a diluent to a solution used in intravascular injections. It can also be used as a solvent in biopharmaceutical manufacturing of parenteral drugs (drugs not administered by mouth) such as eye drops, nose sprays, and hygiene products. Flow control is critical in these applications to ensure the correct dilution or concentration of the end product is obtained. If the correct amount of water is not present, the drug may not perform optimally.

Kates Solution:

Kates Automatic Flow Controllers are self-contained units that respond to pressure changes up and downstream to maintain the optimized set flow. The Kates flow controllers can be made completely out of bar stock, allowing the units to be sufficiently cleaned for most pharmaceutical applications. Kates Flow Controllers regulate flow as low as .01 GPM at 1.5% accuracy of setpoint, making it suitable for dosing applications. Kates combines an internal regulating valve and adjustable orifice into one unit that self-adjusts to pressure fluctuations to maintain the set flow. Kates Flow Controllers are cost-effective and have a history of long service life; lasting decades in clean applications.
