Application Overview:
High purity silicon components are critical to a wide range of high technology industries, e.g. semiconductor equipment, solar, and optics. Exacting state-of-the-art equipment and quality processes are critical to the precision manufacturing methods necessary to supply high purity quality components.
In the production process, a special coolant is used to inhibit corrosion, decrease chipping and cracking and extend tool life. Kerf material in slicing operations or particles generated by grinding require special filtration to be able to reuse the coolant. Optimizing flow to machining operations for economic considerations, as well as, flow control in the filtration process are necessary for an efficient and effective production process.

Kates Flow Controllers can be set for optimal flow to individual machining centers and will adjust to pressure changes in the plant coolant delivery system as various machining centers are in production or not being used.
